INVERCLYDE Libraries are launching two new digital services.

From April 23, World Book Night, users can download a mobile app or access thousands of titles via eBooks.

Education and Comm- unities Convener Coun- cillor Terry Loughran said: "This will further add to our modern and dynamic library service and allow more people to access books and services via their computers, mobiles and most e-Readers.

"The new eBook service is free and you don't even need to remember to return your book as will automatically delete on the return due date if you don't 'return' it by then. We will have a number of downloadable audio titles available if you prefer to listen to audio books via an iPod or suchlike."

The Inverclyde Librar- ies mobile app is available for iOS, Android and BlackBerry and will all interaction with the library from Smartphones or tablets.

Customers can renew books, check opening times, search the catalogue, download eBooks and access online reference services such as Theory Test Pro and Encyclopaedia Britannica.

Councillor Loughran added: "Staff will be happy to help anyone download the app or access eBooks."
