A MAN and his dog had to be rescued after being trapped 40ft down a river embankment.
Line Rescue and Water Rescue teams from the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service raced to the scene at Chatelherault Country Park, Lanarkshire, on Saturday morning.
The Line Rescue team quickly reached the man to determine the safest method of rescue. Meanwhile, the Water Rescue team donned dry suits and waded into the river. Dog and owner were reunited after a checks by paramedics.
