TEACHERS from across Glasgow took the top spots in an annual awards ceremony.
The Scottish Education Awards 2013 took place in Glasgow's Hilton Hotel and three city schools as well as two exceptional teachers featured.
Kay Dingwall, headteacher at Knightswood Secondary took the coveted Headteacher of the Year Award for her passion, commitment and innovation and the positive ethos that permeates Knightswood as a result.
Kay took the title after fierce competition from Tony McDaid of Calderglen High, East Kilbride and Ellen Muir of Pilrig Park School, Edinburgh.
Megan Mellon of Annette Street Primary collected the Probationary Teacher of the Year Award for the support she provides for pupils who have English as an additional language or are completely new to English.
She beat competition from Christopher McGilchrist, St Peter the Apostle High in Clydebank and Janine McIvor, St Winning's Primary in Kilwinning.
Abercorn Secondary in Cowcaddens collected the Active Nation Award as a result of the school's focus on health and wellbeing, with a range of sports clubs available.
Saint Anne's Primary took the Aiming High Award, due to the range of opportunities available to students to provide them with the best learning experiences.
Caledonia Primary, Baillieston collected the Gaelic Language Award as a result of their drive to promote the language and culture in their school.
The Scottish Education Awards are open to all publicly funded schools and provide the opportunity to showcase the hard work and achievements of all education staff in Scotland.
