FIREFIGHTERS are preparing to face a rise in deliberate fires as the summer hots up.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue service say more than 60% of emergency fire calls at this time of year are started deliberately.
Assistant Chief Officer Lewis Ramsay said "Fire officers work with colleagues from local authorities, police, businesses and the third sector for a safer Scotland. This joined-up approach has resulted in a reduction of deliberate fires; nevertheless more needs to be done to reduce these incidents."
