A PEDESTRIAN killed in a motorbike accident was going to local shops when he died.
As reported in the Evening Times on Thursday, John McGovern, 62, died after being struck by a motorbike on Shieldhall Road, Govan.
Family members rushed to the scene to see paramedics treating Mr McGovern, who was pronounced dead on arrival at the Southern General Hospital.
It was initially believed Mr McGovern had been waiting for a bus on Shieldhall Road, but it has emerged he was walking to the local bookies.
While waiting in the central reservation of Shieldhall Road around after 4.30pm on Wednesday he was struck by a motorcycle.
The 51-year-old motorcyclist' is in a "stable" condition in the Southern General.
