EAST End SNP councillor Alison Thewliss is about to take an enforced break from the campaign trail but for the best of reasons - she's expecting her second child.
Alison and husband Joe Wright, a software developer, already have a young son Alexander and are looking forward to an extended family.
She said: "We're obviously very excited and looking forward to the new arrival. Baby number two is due on October 30 and I'm endeavouring to get all the work in before it makes an appearance.
"We're not finding out in advance if it's a boy or a girl although Alexander says it's a sister."
