Comedian John Bishop has revealed that comedy helped him to get through bouts of depression.
On tonight's Jonathan Ross Christmas special, Bishop talks candidly about how depression helped him get into comedy - and how time apart from his children was the lowest of his life.
The 47-year old said: "I'd split up with (my wife) Melanie and I had the kids at the weekend, and because of the nature of the job I had, as a sales director, I couldn't decide where I was in the week."
He said he used to look at Richard and Judy on the TV and think, "Why can't I be that happy?"
