An East Renfrewshire nursery class has been given an outstanding report by inspectors.

The nursery class at Giffnock Primary School has been visited by the Care Inspectorate.

And the education service it provides for its young pupils has received an incredible seven 'excellents' out of the eight areas looked at.

Vice-convener for education and equality, Councillor Paul O'Kane, said: "Very well done to Giffnock nursery class on such a fantastic report.

"To get seven excellents out of eight is absolutely exceptional and it is testament to the wonderful teaching and learning that is happening in the nursery.

"I'd like to offer everyone involved - the head teacher, nursery staff and of course the children - huge congratulations on this tremendous achievement."
