ELECTRONIC cigarettes will be banned in and around all Commonwealth Games venues.
Glasgow 2014 has become the latest organisation to veto use of the battery powered products which emit a vapour.
Last year Games organisers said smoking would not be allowed in the vicinity of sites hosting sporting events.
But Paul Zealey, Glasgow 2014's head of engagement and legacy, has confirmed e-cigs will also be banned at Games venues
He said: "E-cigarettes and other smoking simulators will not be allowed to be used at competition venues.
"The ultimate sanction would be for them to be asked to leave the venue, but hopefully it would not come to that."
