SPORTING stars are set to make a splash as they battle it out for a place in Team Scotland.
The Scottish Gas National Open Swimming Championships is the first opportunity for swimmers to officially make the qualifying time that will guarantee them a place at the Commonwealth Games.
And it will be another chance for the world-class athletes to test the water at Tollcross International Swimming Centre.
Big names including Olympic silver medallist Michael Jamieson, Robbie Renwick and Hannah Miley are expected to attend alongside para- swimming stars Craig Rodgie, Stefan Hoggan and Sean Fraser.
They will battle it out to secure a spot throughout four days of competition from April 3 to 6.
Scottish Swimming chief executive Forbes Dunlop promised a "tremendous" event showcasing the biggest stars and up-and- coming talent in Scottish swimming.
He said: "There is great excitement about these Championships being held at Tollcross, and I am looking forward to an exciting event, which will be another milestone in establishing Team Scotland athletes."
