A NEW Scottish daily newspaper, The National, is available from today from newsagents and Evening Times vendors.
The paper is being published by the Herald and Times Group and follows the success of the Sunday Herald whose sales soared after it came out in favour of a Yes vote during the indepen-dence campaign.
The National will be pro-independence and will initially be published as a five-day pilot.
Sunday Herald editor Richard Walker will edit it.
It will cost 50p and be available in newsagents and in electronic form via online subscription.
It is the first time for many years that a new Scottish paper has been launched.
