TONY Lavery, 73, from Mount Florida, attends Dixon Day Care in Govanhill every Thursday.
He said: "I used to come two days a week but I had to cut that down to one recently. It's too much money with the charges, because I only have my pension.
"It's very upsetting. I'm hoping that some of the fundraising that goes on at the centre will help me pay for it because I don't want to miss out.
"I look forward to getting out of the house. If I don't go I'll just be sitting at home in front of the TV by myself.
"My daughter and granddaughter live in Glasgow but I don't see them as often as I'd like. My daughter works as a nurse so she's not got a lot of money either.
"I'd like the council to stop the charges. We pensioners have paid our way."
