THOUSANDS of people lined the streets of Dunblane to catch a glimpse of tennis legend Andy Murray and his new wife Kim Sears.

The happy couple wed in a ceremony in the town's 12th century cathedral surrounded by close family and friends.

They shunned a celebrity style wedding instead inviting only a handful of well-known names from the tennis circuit.

They included Murray's coach Amelie Mauresmo and former coach Miles MacLagan, Tim Henman and his wife Lucy and former Davis Cup player Ross Hutchins.

The 3000 wellwishers, who had braved freezing rain showers, cheered as a series of minibuses and coaches dropped off the wedding guests.

But the loudest cheer was reserved for Murray, who sported a kilt and arrived with his tennis playing brother Jamie.

The bride to be and her four bridesmaids, were were dressed in pink, were whisked to the back of the cathedral.

But after the ceremony, the smiling newlyweds emerged from the cathedral to give onlookers a glimpse at the bride's embroidered white gown with three quarter length sleeves and a long veil.

Andy's mother Judy wore a stylist hat designed by Glasgow based William Chambers who has a studio in the Merchant City.

He has a number of celebrity customers for his hats which cost from £150 to £800.

Mr Chambers said: "I was thrilled when Judy decided to come and visit our shop in Glasgow to choose a hat for her son's wedding."

Meanwhile, tributes have been paid to press photographer Gordon Jack who died after falling at Murray's wedding rehearsal.

He became unwell as photographers captured Britain's top tennis player arriving at Dunblane Cathedral the day before the ceremony.

Mr Jack, 47, was taken by ambulance to Forth Valley Hospital in Larbert but died the following day.

It is understood he died following complications from a heart attack.
