A WOMAN was assaulted in a robbery attempt as she made her way to a bank.
The 43-year-old was walking along Station Road, Shotts, carrying a bag of money, when she was approached by two men.
Police said the thugs tried to grab the bag from her at around 3pm on Tuesday,
They then made off in a vehicle.
Both men are described as wearing dark hooded tops and baseball caps.
Detective Constable Karen Murray, from Wishaw CID, said: "Station Road is a main thoroughfare in the Shotts area and it is always very busy.
"I would urge anyone who was in or near that area, who may have witnessed something suspicious, or who may have seen these two men to come forward to police, as a matter of urgency."
Anyone who has any information is asked to contact Wishaw CID on 101.
