A CYCLIST is critically ill after hitting a parked car in Greenock.
Police said the 48-year-old man was negotiating a junction when his bike collided with a parked car on Grieve Road at 4pm on Monday.
He was taken to Inverclyde Royal Infirmary before being transferred to the Southern General Hospital in Glasgow, where his condition is said to be critical.
Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
Sergeant Kenny Malaney, from the Road Policing Unit, said: "Enquiries are continuing to establish the exact circumstances of this incident.
"I would ask anyone who witnessed what happened to contact police via the non-emergency number 101."
