A cheeky Glaswegian has landed a 'starring' role in a Microsoft advert after he sent a tweet to the firm saying their campaign mentioning the cricket was out of place in the East End.

Twitter user Chris took a swipe at the Microsoft bus stop advert which showed mobile voice-activated assistant, Cortana, announcing a reminder about playing cricket at the weekend.

His tweet went viral after he said: “Said nobody in the east End of Glasgow ever."

And it seems his banter has been picked up by Microsoft UK who tweeted Chris to say they weren’t kidding that Cortana was personal.

The computer firm's response included a photo of the same bus stop with a new poster which reads: “Cortana, next time I speak with Chris, remind me not to mention the cricket.”

A delighted Chris then responded:

We salute you Chris!
