FINELY crafted Highlanders Regalia is ready to do under the hammer.

Claire Godwyn, auction manager with Great Western Auctions on Dumbarton road in Whiteinch, showed off the Scottish Victorian 15carat gold and citrine mounted Highlanders Regalia comprising a dirk, skean dhu, belt buckle and powder horn.

The estimate is £12-18,000 for the suite.

They were crafted in 1865 by James and Walter Marshall of Edinburgh, renowned makers of fine quality Highland Regalia.

This type of suite would typically have been mounted in silver, engraved with a regimental crest and worn by a high ranking officer at important ceremonial occasions.

The items are going under the hammer at the Great Western Auctions Autumn Fine Art and Antiques Auction today and continuing tomorrow.

More than 850 lots of jewellery, paintings, silver, Asian Art, coins, decorative arts and furniture will be offered over the two-day sale.
