A fisherman who died after falling overboard has been named by police.
Gerard Gillies, 42, was rescued by another fisherman after falling from the vessel near Barra in the Western Isles yesterday afternoon.
He was airlifted to the Western Isles Hospital on the Isle of Lewis after the incident at about 1.30pm.
Stornoway Coastguard and Barra RNLI lifeboat crew were called to the scene but the man had been rescued by another fisherman by the time they arrived.
Mr Gillies died in the hospital yesterday afternoon.
A Police Scotland spokesman said: "Next of kin have been informed. There are no suspicious circumstances and a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal."
