A 17-year-old girl who died after a road crash in which three others were injured has been named by police.
Rebecca Ross was a passenger in a Nissan Juke car which was heading towards Largs on the A760 in North Ayrshire when it was in a crash with a Ford Focus travelling in the opposite direction.
Police Scotland said the teenager, from Largs, died at the scene of the collision, which happened at about 10.30pm on Friday.
The 18-year-old man who was driving the Nissan Juke is being treated for serious chest injuries at Crosshouse Hospital in Kilmarnock. He is said to be in a serious but stable condition.
A 28-year old woman who was a passenger in the other car is in a critical condition in the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley, where she is being treated for injuries described as "very serious".
The 32-year-old driver of the Focus was treated at the same hospital for minor injuries and then discharged.
Police have appealed for witnesses to the crash.
