AN SNP candidate plans to literally run for his constituency tomorrow as he sprints 17 miles around Provan.

Ivan McKee, who is hoping to become an MSP in the upcoming Holyrood elections, will take part in the run along with a team of activists.

He plans to run between all 28 polling stations in the constituency, including Riddrie, Barmulloch, Craigend, Garthamlock, Easterhouse and Carntyne.

Setting off from Robroyston, he will finish the gruelling race in Dennistoun on what he is calling a "Super Saturday" of campaigning across the area.

Mr McKee said: "Active transport is a devolved matter and I want to show that I can help lead the change to healthier forms of travel if the people of Glasgow Provan elect me to do so”

"I couldn't think of a more enjoyable way to raise funds than spend the day outdoors being visible in the constituency.

"I hope to show the people of Glasgow Provan the drive and commitment I want to bring to the area if they elect me as their MSP on May the 5th."

The candidate will be collecting donations for the race, which he plans to put towards his campaign fund. Any cash raised over the target will be given to local charities.

Mr McKee will be competing for the Provan seat against Annie Wells of the Conservatives and Paul Martin of Labour.
