THE SNP said Labour’s manifesto failed to defend the NHS claiming to fails to pass on consequentials from Westminster spending.

Shona Robison Health Secretary said Labour’s plans will cost the NHS £800m over the next five years.

She said: “It is clear the Labour party are preparing to let down Scotland’s valuable health service.

“Instead of joining the SNP and committing the investment that is needed to make the service fit for the 21st century, Labour are short-changing Scotland’s NHS. That is a true betrayal of Labour’s roots.”

The Tories warned that Labour was not as committed in its defence of the UK.

Scottish Conservative leader Ruth Davidson said: "This is a party that has completely lost its way. And the real danger is that it is now too weak to stop the SNP dragging Scotland back to another referendum.

"We need to stand firm - every single Scottish Conservative MP and MSP will stand up for the decision our country made to stay part of the UK.

“We won't let the SNP take us back to another referendum, and we'll insist they focus on the things that matter; improving schools, supporting hospitals and backing the economy."
