TWO American teenagers desperate to use their good fortune to serve underprivileged communities... are heading to Glasgow.
Siblings Aina and Ferran Rivas claim to have dedicated their lives to volunteering.
And now they want to turn their hands to solving poverty, crime and ill-health in Scotland's largest city.
The pair have set up a Go Fund Me page for their rescue mission, which has already earned them $1200 of an appeal total of $4000.
On their page Aina says: "We are Aina and Ferran Rivas and we want to join Hope Youth Corps to rescue one of the poorest communities in Glasgow Scotland.
"Currently we are part of Hope Scouts, which is a group that encourages young people to serve. We both love serving and we want to take our serving hearts overseas, but we need your help.
"We want to go to Glasgow, Scotland where we would be partnering with a local community organization to transform a patch of urban wasteland into usable space for a local school."
In their appeal video they show photographs of children playing in desolate, tyre-strewn wasteland.
They talk about the Glasgow Effect, ill health and how one in three children is living in poverty in the city.
A Glasgow City Council spokesman said: “If they make it to Glasgow they’ll find a city that looks very different to the one shown in their video.”
