A man has been charged after a toddler was found wandering unaccompanied in Motherwell.
Police found the two-year-old on Albion Street in Motherwell at around 8.40am on Sunday morning.
A 49-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the incident.
He is expected to appear at Hamilton Sheriff Court on Tuesday.
A Police spokesman said: "Police attended the report of a young child wandering the streets in Albion Street, Motherwell.
"On their arrival they came across a two-year-old child who was not in the company of a suitable adult.
"The child was immediately taken into the care of police who liaised with the emergency social work department.
