GLASGOW commuters donated tonnes of items to help a foodbank collection drive in aid of Glasgow City Mission.
Thousands of people passing through Glasgow Central station concourse stopped to drop much needed items following the appeal.
It follows on from previous successful drives the station has been involved in.
The 12 hour foodbank appeal ran from 7am to 7pm.

Organised by station officer Jim Frizzle, the donation drive was the largest of its kind to be held in Scotland and is now in its third year after launching in 2014 – when a nine months’ supply for food was collected at the station in just one day.
With a footfall of more than 100,000 passengers every day, the Central station team are confident they will once again see a huge response of Glasgow’s commuters.

Jim said: “Every year the generosity of people passing through the station is just overwhelming. The donations we collect will make a real difference and we hope that passengers will want to get involved and support those in our community who are struggling.”
