Police are investigating the suspicious death of a man in East Ayrshire.
The 41-year-old was seriously injured at a property in Croe Place, Kilmarnock, in the early hours of Thursday.
He was taken to hospital by ambulance but died shortly after.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "At around 1.40am on Thursday, police and emergency services responded to a report of a 41-year-old man having been seriously injured within a property in Croe Place, Kilmarnock.
"He was taken by ambulance to Crosshouse Hospital where he died a short time later.
"The death is being treated as suspicious. Officers are following a definite line of enquiry."
