Film fans have been left disappointed as Cineworld on Renfield Street closed suddenly this afternoon.
Bosses at the city centre cinema said the building had suffered a power shortage.
It is believed to be the second time in six months that the Cineworld branch had been affected by a power outage.
A notice on the door of the cinema reads: "We are currently closed while we resolve an issue with our power.
"We're sorry for any inconvenience and would like to thank customers for their understanding.
"We hope to reopen the cinema as soon as possible.
"Watch this space for updates."
It is not known how long the situation will take to resolve.
Customers who have purchased tickets can claim a refund through Customer Services on 0333 003 3444.
