A MAN shouted abuse at a supermarket security guard after he asked him to leave the shop because he was barred.
Graham Wright, 29, was sentenced to 12 months supervision at Glasgow Sheriff Court after admitting he assaulted the security guard and acted in an aggressive manner towards him.
The incident happened in the Co-op on Crown Street in the Gorbals on June 12, last year.
The court heard that Wright entered the shop at around 4pm and was recognised by the security guard who asked him to leave.
Wright shouted at the security guard: “Go back to where you came from. Your taking our jobs. I can’t get a job cause of you.”
Wright, of Cumberland Street, left the shop but re-entered via another entrance and challenged the security guard to come outside.
Wright plead guilty to attempting to kick the security guard. He also accepted that he shouted and repeatedly uttered racial remarks towards the security guard.
He also repeatedly challenged him to a fight and made threatening gestures towards him.
Wright defence agent told the court that his client has a drug addiction.
He explained that he knew he was barred and had only entered the store to use the ATM because the one outside was not working.
His defence agent added: “He realises he can’t excuse his behaviour.”
