The new Raith Interchange underpass will open to traffic after three years of roadworks.
Developments have been underway at the junction as part of a huge roadworks improvement project.
The transformation hopes to improve traffic congestion near the junction at Hamilton in South Lanarkshire.
The underpass near the M74 motorway slip will open to traffic for the first time this morning.
The multi-million pound development was part of a £500m project to re-work the M8, M73 and M74 with the Scottish Roads Partnerhsip and Transport Scotland in 2014.
