PUPILS at an East End school have been helping their local community keep up with the new year health kick.
For Royston Primary School has joined forces with the North Glasgow Community Food Initiative (NGCFI) for a number of healthy eating programmes which are proving to be a hit.
The pupils at the school are pictured running their weekly fruit barra which is open every Monday, and sells affordable fruit and vegetables.
The fruit barra is based either in the school playground or just inside the main entrance from 2.45pm to 3.15pm.
The NGCFI are also running cookery and nutrition classes for P7s and members of the local community.
The kids have been receiving lessons on how to cook healthy meals as well as learning about the benefits of eating the right foods.
The NGCFI took up a space in the school in recent months which has allowed the partnership to flourish and plans are in place for more initiatives.
