Scottish Water staff are on location in the Cumbernauld area carrying out repairs to a burst main which is causing disruption to the supply of customers.
The burst is currently affecting around 6,000 properties in the area.
The number of customers with disruption to supply has been reduced significantly in the last few hours following backfeeds and tankering being put in place.
A Scottish Water spokesperson said: "We are working hard to provide alternative supplies for customers affected.

"Repairs are ongoing to try and get supply restored as quickly as possible.
"Scottish Water apologises for the inconvenience caused during this burst and thanks customers in the area for their patience as this complicated repair is carried out."
