A MAN was sentenced at Glasgow Sheriff Court for carrying ball in a sock.
The court heard the 54-year-old was seen by witnesses walking along Tollcross Road who noticed him acting aggressively.
The accused began to shout “f*** off” at them and had an item in his hand.
The witnesses thought Gilmour was holding a ball or a stone within a glove. Police attended, traced Gilmour and questioned him. He produced white sock with a ball in it and he was arrested.
Gilmour admitted that on May 9 at Helenvale Street he behaved in a threatening and abusive manner by shouting and swearing.
He also admitted that on the same date at the same place he had an offensive weapon in his possession – in the form of a ball within a sock – without reasonable excuse or lawful authority.
He was given nine months supervision.
