Happy International Kissing Day!
It’s a perfect excuse to grab your nearest and dearest and show them some love.
Whether it’s winching your partner or giving your friends, parents or children a wee peck, here are some of the most romantic places around the world where you can really celebrate the day:
Hohenzollern Bridge, Germany
Unfortunately you’re banned from attaching love locks to many bridges around Europe. Even the famous Pont des Arts in Paris is a no go, and the locks there have now been removed.
However, one place you can still go and profess your love with a lock is Hohenzollern Bridge in Cologne – and don’t forget to steal a kiss while you’re there.

Bridge of Sighs, Italy
You’re probably familiar with this iconic spot in Venice. Popular superstition says that lovers who kiss on a gondola underneath the bridge at sunset will be granted eternal love. We’re pretty sure it would be worth a go even if you’re not there at sunset.
Lovers Point, USA
The clue’s in the name for this one, and the sense of romance is definitely heightened by the gorgeous surroundings of this Californian park and beach.

Juliet’s house, Italy
The story of Romeo and Juliet is one of William Shakespeare’s greatest works, but it did have roots in reality. In Verona, there’s a 13th century house once inhabited by the family who inspired the Capulets and couples flock for a photo under the balcony.
Unmarried people touch a statue of Juliet for luck, but others can capture the romance by sneaking a kiss in the courtyard. You can also find love padlocks and a wall where couples graffiti their names.

Alley of the kiss, Mexico
This narrow alley in Guanajuato is famous thanks to the tragic love story of Doña Carmen and Don Luis. A Mexican legend tells of the two young lovers who would meet in this alley for illicit romantic liaisons. Unfortunately, the two came from different backgrounds and their love was not meant to be. The story might be sad, but the legend lives on.

Empire State Building, USA
This New York landmark might be a bit of a tacky choice, but if you and your partner find yourselves at the top of the Empire State Building surely it would be rude not to have a cheeky kiss? If it’s good enough for Sleepless in Seattle, it’s good enough for us.
