MEMBERS of a Lanarkshire mosque have handed over cheques totalling £3000 to support local health services for unwell children, patients with cancer and end-of-life care.
People attending prayers at Lanarkshire Central Mosque in Bellshill dipped into their pockets in large numbers to raise donations for Wishaw General Hospital’s paediatrics department, the Lanarkshire Beatson cancer treatment centre at Monklands Hospital in Airdrie, and Kilbryde Hospice at Hairmyres Hospital in East Kilbride.
The recipients were given cheques for £1000 each.
