COPS have rushed to Wishaw General Hospital to deal with an ongoing incident.

Officers arrived at the hospital in North Lanarkshire before 7am today.

Police Scotland said the circumstances of the incident at this stage is unknown.

The force, however, confirmed that there is no immediate risk to the public.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “Police are dealing with ongoing incident at Wishaw General Hospital.

“There is no risk to the public and enquiries are continuing to establish the full circumstances.”

NHS Lanarkshire said that there is no disruption to services at the hospital.

We previously reported in May that patients were evacuated after a faulty alarm triggered an emergency response at a hospital.
