DJ Suzie McGuire has marked one year since her divorce from her abusive ex-husband by describing how she has had the “happiest year of my life.”
Sharing a memory today on her Facebook page from August 9 last year, the 47-year-old former Radio Clyde presenter thanked her loved ones for helping her through a tough time.
She wrote: “Happiest year of my life!
“Grateful I found the courage to get out of a living nightmare and follow my head….heart and the advice of everyone I know!
“Better late than never.”

She also added in the hashtags “#FREEDOM #sociopathchecklist #relief #joy #buzzin.”
Today’s post comes exactly one year after Suzie first announced her divorce by checking herself into Paisley Sheriff Court on the social media site.
Derek Mitchell, 37, was convicted of a series of domestic assaults on Suzie in November of 2014.
The pair were officially divorced in a hearing which lasted just ten minutes.
Suzie is now married to businessman Kevin Irvine.
