DETECTIVES are today hunting two men after a Port Glasgow resident was slashed in the face after answering his door to the pair.
The 40-year-old victim sustained a laceration to the right side of his face and was treated in hospital following the 4.55pm attack.
Two men had gone to his home within a common close on Highholm Street, resulting in the man being struck with a knife or similar weapon, reports the Greenock Telegraph.
Detective Inspector David Wagstaff, of Greenock CID, said: "The injured man was treated at Inverclyde Royal and allowed home afterwards.
"We are following a positive line of inquiry as the investigation continues.
"I would ask any witnesses to come forward and contact us."
