A MAN has appeared in court charged with gesticulating and shouting a sectarian remark at the weekend's Old Firm clash.
Daniel Mohammed, 20, allegedly behaved in a way that would be “likely to incite public disorder”, at Ibrox Stadium on September 23 where Celtic won 2-0.
He denied the charges when he appeared from custody on Tuesday at Glasgow Sheriff Court, represented by Paul Kavanagh.
Mohammed, from Edinburgh, is charged with leaning over a barrier and gesticulating in an aggressive manner towards supporters of the opposing team and shouting a sectarian remark.
It is contrary to the Offensive Behaviour at Football Act.
He also faces a charge of assaulting a police officer at Sandeman Street, Dundee, on September 20 by attempting to punch him.
Mohammed was granted bail on the standard conditions and will return in January for trial.
