Nicolas Cage fans, brace yourselves, because the very first film festival dedicated entirely to the legendary actor is set to make its debut in Scotland.

Glasgow’s first-ever CAGE-A-RAMA will celebrate the 54th birthday of international treasure and “bats**t crazyman,” said organisers at the Centre for Contemporary Arts (CCA).

Over two days in January next year, audiences will get the chance to explore two facets of the “unfathomable diamond” that is Cage at the popular Sauchiehall Street venue.

The weekend will kick off on Saturday, January 6 with Cage the Fighter and the Holy Trinity of The Rock (1996); Face/Off (1997) and Con Air (1997).

Then, on the Sunday, goers will explore the gentler side of Nicolas, with Cage the Lover: Valley Girl (1983), Moonstruck (1987) and Raising Arizona (1987).

Both days feature plenty of exciting Cage-related bonus features, all starting from noon.

Tickets cost £4 per film, £9 for na day pass, or £18 for a weekend pass. A booking fee will be added to all.

At the start of this year, Cage sent fans wild with excitement in Austin, Texas, when he made a surprise appearance at fan event Caged, walking out on stage to rapturous applause and then graciously sitting with the audience through Bangkok Dangerous, Joe, Bringing Out the Dead, Army of One, and Lord of War.

The big-hearted actor, who’s known for always making an effort with his fans, also took part in a Q and A that apparently went on for almost an hour.
