STARGAZERS in Glasgow are being urged to prepare for the last meteor shower of the year in the early hours of Thursday.
The Geminids, from the Gemini the Twins constellation, should be visible from late on Wednesday, if the skies are clear.
A spokeswoman for Glasgow Science Centre said: “The Geminids are particularly special because they don’t come from the tail left by a comet, but from the dust left by the asteroid 3200 Phaethon.
“Along with January’s Quadrantids, they are the only major meteor showers not to be associated with a comet.”
The meteor shower is best viewed between midnight and dawn.
