CONCERN is growing for a missing Hamilton man whose disappearance has been described as "out of character".

Archibald McKendrick, 49, was reported missing by his family on the evening of Monday, December 11 from his home address in the Low Waters Road area of the town.

Known as junior, he was last seen at his home address by his mother and heard leaving at around around 1.30pm.

He failed to return home at around 6pm and this has been described as very much out of character for him.

Friends and family have been contacted but he has not been in touch with anyone since around 11.30am on social media.

There are no sightings of him after he has left his address.

Archibald is described as 5 ft 10 inches, of medium to heavy build with short, shaved, brown hair and blue eyes. He is believed to be wearing blue jeans and possibly a grey heavy jacket.

Inspector Bradley, from Hamilton Police Station, said: "This disappearance is very out of character for Archibald and he has not been missing before. His family are very worried. If anyone believes they have seen or spoken with Archibald I would ask that they get in touch with Hamilton Police Office either directly or via 101 quoting incident number 4101 of the 11th of December.

"If you are unable to call or attend the office, you can send an e-mail to LanarkshireMissingPersons@scotland.pnn.police.uk."
