Police are searching for four men after a man was violently attacked on his way home from a club in Dumbarton.

CCTV images of two men they wish to trace in connection with the serious assault on Sunday August 27 have bee released to the public.

The 35-year-old victim was walking home along High Street around 3.30am when he was attacked by the gang, who were not known to him.

The men, who are all described as being in their early to mid-20s, then made off from the scene heading towards St Mary’s Way.

The victim was taken to the Royal Alexandria Hospital Paisley for treatment and later released.

Officers have released CCTV images of two men who they believe may be able to assist with the investigation.

Detective Constable Ian Evans from Clydebank CID said: “This was a violent and unprovoked attack which left the victim with serious injuries and it is vital that we trace the callous individuals responsible.

“I would appeal to anyone who recognises the two men in the CCTV images to please come forward as they may have information regarding the incident.
