10 September 2016: Celtic 5-1 Rangers

Celtic brushed away the challenge of their greatest rivals as the two sides met in the top-flight once again after four years.

Moussa Dembele announced himself with a hat-trick as Mark Warburton’s side crumbled under the onslaught, with defender Phillipe Senderos also seeing red on a day to forget for the Gers.

The performance was a statement of intent from Brendan Rodgers’ side as they opened up a four-point lead over the Ibrox club, with a game in hand, just five weeks into the season.

3 December 2016: Motherwell 3-4 Celtic

One of Celtic’s sternest tests of the season came at Fir Park, where the Hoops fought back from behind twice before Tom Rogic’s late winner sealed a thrilling three points.

Louis Moult’s first-half double gave the Steelmen a comfortable half-time lead, but Callum McGregor and Patrick Roberts struck back to level things up with 20 minutes remaining.

Lionel Ainsworth restored the home side’s advantage for just one minute before Stuart Armstrong drew the champions level and Rogic then struck late on to decide an epic contest.

29 April 2017: Rangers 1-5 Celtic

Celtic hammered their rivals for a second time, recording their biggest ever win at Ibrox in the process.

Goals from Scott Sinclair, Leigh Griffiths, Callum McGregor, Dedryck Boyata and Mikael Lustig silenced the home crowd only a week on from the Bhoys’ Scottish Cup semi-final win over Pedro Caixinha’s side.

The victory underlined the chasm between the two sides, which was stretched to 36 points as the Bhoys cantered towards the league title.

27 May 2017: Celtic 2-1 Aberdeen

Celtic secured their first domestic treble since 2001 and completed an undefeated season after coming from behind to beat Aberdeen in the Scottish Cup final at Hampden Park.

Jonny Hayes, who secured a move to Parkhead in the summer, put the Dons in front but Armstrong levelled just two minutes later.

With the game heading towards extra time, substitute Rogic netted the winner with a superb individual effort, beating two defenders before squeezing a neat finish past Joe Lewis at his near post.

4 November 2017: St Johnstone 0-4 Celtic

Rodgers’ side made history by breaking their own 100-year-old British record of 62 domestic games without defeat against the last team to have beaten them.

A comfortable win in Perth, settled by strikes from Sinclair, Dembele, a Steven Anderson own goal and Olivier Ntcham, ensured there would be no repeat of the loss Ronny Deila’s side suffered at McDiarmid Park on 11 May 2016.
