The Met Office has forecast that cloud, patchy rain and hill snow soon are set to clear throughout Friday, paving the way for a freezing and frosty night with the mercury dropping to -2C.
The national weather service added: “Sunday and Monday will be dry with long sunny spells and severe overnight frosts.”
Forecaster Simon Partridge told The Scottish Sun: “Showery outbreaks of rain and some sun will be the order of the day for most of the country but with a split in temperatures.

“But by Saturday, the cold will have pushed all the way south with a cold and brisk day across the whole of the UK.
“Some snow showers will hit eastern Scotland and north east England.”
Storm Eleanor brought heavy rain and gusts of up to 90mph which swept across the UK overnight Tuesday and into Wednesday evening, causing power cuts to around 25,000 properties in Northern Ireland.
