TENANTS who have been subject to noise complaints over the last two months are being visited by police.

Glasgow Housing Association has been working with officers to tackle excessive noise in its communities.

Tenants who already have a complaint against their name, were given another warning ahead of the festive period.

They were told they will be monitored over the holidays and visited again in the New Year if there were any more complaints about them.

The move is the latest initiative from the Community Improvement Partnership (CIP), which sees GHA housing staff work closely with the police and fire service to help keep communities safe.

Inspector Mark Nicol, of the CIP, said: “Excessive noise can have a big impact on people. That’s why we sent out a warning to people planning to hold noisy parties.

“They have been left in no doubt we will not tolerate excessive noise. We are not only monitoring their behaviour – we’re reminding them we will take action if their anti-social behaviour continues.”
