TRANSPORT cops are hunting for football fans who were chanting sectarian songs while on a Glasgow train.
The incident happened shortly before 6pm on December 16 on board a service between Glasgow Central and Bellshill.
The force said a group of Rangers football fans were chanting sectarian songs while travelling on the service.
Officers would now like to speak to anyone who was on the 5.50pm service from Glasgow Central and heard the group.
PC Nicola McLuckie: “Any kind of abusive chanting is unpleasant and anti-social for fellow passengers who are travelling, but sectarian singing is particularly offensive. I am keen to speak to anyone was on the service and saw or heard what happened. Behaviour of this nature will not be tolerated.”
Anyone with any information should contact British Transport Police on 0800 40 50 40 or text 61016 citing reference 430 of 16/12.
