A MAN has appeared in court charged with trying to kill a two-year-old boy.
David McMullen is accused of attacking the boy at a house in Cambuslang in December 2016.
Prosecutors claim the 33 year-old did “inflict blunt force trauma” on the toddler's body by means “unknown”.
McMullen faces a separate charge of assaulting the same boy on various occasions between June and December 2016 at the same address.
He is further accused of attacking a five year-old boy at a property in Linwood, Renfrewshire in May 2009.
It is alleged he did seize the child, prodded him with his fingers and placed him in a bath of hot water to his severe injury.
McMullen appeared for a hearing at the High Court in Glasgow.
His QC Gordon Jackson pled not guilty on his behalf.
No trial was set and Judge Lady Rae instead adjourned the case for a further hearing next month.
McMullen, of Provanmill, had his bail continued meantime.
