THE Met Office has issued a yellow warning for snow this week.
The forecast warns that snow is likely from Monday onwards and will effect most of the country including the Strathclyde area.
In the forecast, The Met Office stated that there is the potential for 10 to 15 cm of snow in places where showers become more frequent.
The warning is in place until Wednesday.
The Met Office said: "There is the potential for travel delays on roads, with some stranded vehicles and passengers, as well as delays or cancellations to rail and air travel.
"Some rural communities could become cut off. Power cuts may also occur and other services, such as mobile phones, may be affected."
A yellow warning is issued by the Met Office to let people know that severe weather is possible over the next few days and could affect you.
Yellow means that you should plan ahead thinking about possible travel delays, or the disruption of your day to day activities.
The Met Office is monitoring the developing weather situation and Yellow means keep an eye on the latest forecast and be aware that the weather may change or worsen, leading to disruption of your plans in the next few days.
