FUNDRAISERS collecting money for the funeral of a Summerston woman who was found dead at the Forth and Clyde Canal have achieved their target.
A total of £1,300 has been raised for the family of Allison McAllister, days after the fundraising page was set up.
The popular carer’s body was discovered on Tuesday at around 1.30pm after police received a call.
The 56-year-old was found at the Forth and Clyde Canal, near to Cleveden Road, Maryhill.
Her death is currently being treated as unexplained and Police Scotland appealed for information from the public in a bid to piece together Alison’s final moments.
Leisa Lucas set up the page to raise £500 for Allison’s children Laura and Gerry - and they have achieved that.
She said: “Cannot believe the generosity of so many people. Can’t thank everyone who has donated enough, it’s highly appreciated.”
