A SCOTTISH couple has been charged with child abandonment after ignoring warnings not to leave their children alone will going out drinking.
The pair was reported to cops for drunken behaviour in Mallorca, leaving their four-year-old and 11-year-old alone in the hotel while they partied.
Other families at the PaLma Bay Hotel said they had to look after the children after finding them wandering around.
Police who arrested the pair found them drunk, according to ex-pat paper The Olive Press.
The mother and stepfather claimed another British couple at the resort had agreed to watch the kids while they went out drinking.
It was also reported they ignored resort staff warnings that it was illegal to leave the children on their own.
The children are now in protective custody.
