RIVER City actress Leah MacRae is to speak at a body confidence event in Glasgow next month.

The star will take to the stage at the Feel Great Friday event for a Q&A on body confidence alongisde advocate Danni Gordon from the Chachi Power Project, life coach and hypnotherapist Ann Currie, wellness coach and celebrity personal trainer Ellie Hopley and clinical psychologist Dr Joanna Livingstone.

Leah said: "I'm really excited to be part of this event - we're all guilty of being too hard on ourselves at times and maybe focusing too much on the parts of ourselves we don't like rather than celebrating all the fantastic things we have to offer.

"I'm looking forward to being involved and having a wee blether with everyone who comes along on the night."

The latest event, which is run by Body Confidence Live, brings together a range speakers to help people find ways to feel more positive about their bodies.

Body Confidence Live founder, Lindsay Reid, from Glasgow, said: "We had great feedback after our event in March so we've decided to run a new speaker-based event, again with a focus on helping people think about ways they can feel better about themselves and encouraging everyone to be a bit kinder to their bodies and focus on the positive things they have to contribute and what they can achieve.

"The idea is that people can come along for a positive and uplifting evening, where they can hear from a range of different speakers and hopefully leave feeling great."

Hope Street's The Studio will play host to the event on June 1 from 7pm.
